05/11/2020 Today we were delighted to welcome well known local man Tim Ryan. Tim spoke passionately about local volunteers who fought for Irish freedom. He spoke in particular about his uncle Michael Scanlon who was captured and shot by Crown forces in Thomas Street, Limerick 100 years ago. He had many interesting artefacts including photographs, war medals and old newspapers. Finding out a local connection to the War of Independence made it all the more interesting.
