Helping the Bees - CSW 26/01/23
26th Jan 2023
Today we had lessons on caring for the environment as part of Catholic schools week. Infants planted up containers of Heather plants. Winter and early Spring flowering heathers provide food for bees when foraging opportunities are scarce. Nectar and therefore honey from Heathers contains a natural "bumblebee medicine", which is active against a harmful bee parasite. This CSW theme is one we really enjoyed. It's linked to Pope Francis's letter Laudato si which urges all of us to care for our common home.
