We love to bake in Galbally NS especially around the time of our birthdays! Sometimes it is a reward for our good work during the term. We learn how to prepare beforehand, gather ingredients & utensils, making sure the oven is at the correct temperature. Measuring is very important in baking & we have to recall our Maths lesson on measurement. It is fun bringing all the ingredients together to make a delicious cake. We even get to taste the mixture! We wash all utensils while we wait for the cake to bake. The best part is sampling the delicious cakes & buns!
This is our effort at “Painting by numbers”. Returning to school in September, we looked forward to 5 or 10 minutes a day engaging in this mindful, relaxing activity. It requires lots of concentration & helped us focus. Some of us found this difficult & got carried away with the brush strokes! However we were amazed to see the picture coming to life as the weeks wore on. This activity demonstrates that perseverance & dedication brings results. The combined effort of everyone working together on their corner of the painting brings to mind the combined efforts of the global community working together during this pandemic. We look forward to beginning another masterpiece when we return to school.
